Tot School-Dr. Seuss

TotSchool2 E is 36 months

We worked on Dr. Seuss this week.  Here is a little bit of what we did.  You can find all of this Dr. Seuss Unit at 2 Teaching Mommies, just in time to celebrate Read Across America

Language Arts:
We worked on some rhyming words this week.  E is new to rhymes, and I think that the pictures really helped her.  This is also introducing her to sight words I suppose, but I know we’re not there yet, nor do I want to be there just yet!  We read Hop on Pop to get us into a rhyming mood.

Here are all the books we read this week:

We switched up the uses for out clip cards this week.  Instead of cutting them out and clipping on the number of apples, we counted and colored in the number.  Why did we do this?  I didn’t get a chance to cut them out :)  We based this off of Ten Apples Up on Top.

We also used this feet measuring activity to measure furniture and things around the house.  Once we measured, we colored in the feet to match our measurements.  This activity was inspired by The Foot Book.

Apparently, we were on a Math kick.  We also did this Roll and Graph inspired by Mr. Brown can Moo, can You?   The dice has sounds from the book on it, and we had to match the sound to the object that makes it and graph it.  E LOVED this.

For Fun:
For fun we made some zany animals inspired by If I ran the Zoo.

That was what we did this week.  Be sure and check out what others did at 1+1+1=1
