This week in tot school we worked with a fun, and not spooky, Halloween theme! Here are some of the things we did this week, and you can see more with Madonna over at A Mommy Talks.
Language Arts Activities:
This week we worked on a couple of activities. One of them was this Jack-O-Lantern letter match. E had to match the uppercase Jack-O-Lantern to its lowercase stem. We had fun with this activity, but we never did all 26 letters in one sitting, because I thought that was a little daunting. We broke it down into several sets and worked on a little each day.
We also read quite a few books.
I drew a pumpkin shape on a foam sheet for this activity. We used play-dough and made shapes to make a face for the pumpkins. E can roll the play-dough pretty easily, so we were able to make circles without much trouble. Other shapes took mommy’s help, but E directed me on what shape and how many sides.
We also worked on this bat roll and color. We printed out the bat printable and used a dice to tell us how many circles to color in.
We played memory this week with Halloween themed memory cards. There were 8 matches in all, but we started out with 4 matches at a time. We will probably play with these a couple more times this week, too!
For our family night, and as a science experiment, we made glow in the dark Jell-O. You can read more about that here. We had a fun time with it!
Our family ventured out on a camping trip this weekend, and we had a wonderful time with my extended family. It was chilly, but E liked sleeping in her tent. There was a lot of playing in the dirt and roasting marshmallows, which is what camping should be, right?
While camping we took some pictures. Here is my favorite one!
I hope you enjoyed looking at our week. Remember, all of our activities can be found a 2 Teaching Mommies for FREE. Be sure and come back next week when we’ll be learning about Spiders! Most importantly check out what others did this week at 1+1+1=1.
